Where do I even begin?
Well, it has been a month since I posted something and I just feel awful about it. No one knows what is going on across the pond unless you call or we call which doesn’t happen very often. So, I will do as much as I can to bring you up to speed!
Asher
Asher is getting to be a bigger boy. He is saying a lot more and starting to rival his brother for possession of toys and other goodies around the house. However, he is still a lover. He is always doling out the hugs and kisses. He likes to be where we are unless Will has him off on an adventure somewhere in the house or when they are playing in the toy room. He has his own twin size bed now and he has taken right to it. We moved him out of the crib and he has done really well in his bed, much better than Will did. So, we are grateful for that. I don’t feel like a horrible parent because my child is sleeping on the floor. He is also going up and down the stairs standing up so he is really becoming a bigger boy.
William
Well, what can I say. He has inherited all of my mischievousness. He gets up really early (7 or 7:30) and I am either getting ready or me and Kristin are still in bed and he gets into all the food he can before we come downstairs. For instance, he gets down yogurt and apple sauce and eats those. We started buying those so that he would eat that and not other things. Recently I guess he has been eating his weight in peanut butter. Kristin came downstairs and he was sitting on the couch with the peanut butter jar and a spoon. I recently caught him sitting on the couch with a bag of pepperonni and scissors. I also heard that the other day he spilled half a gallon of milk all around the kitchen and living room. Always a good time with Will. He is getting to be big as well and running around. Also, I would say he is 90% potty trained! Yeah! He goes pee pee on his own now and can catch himself with the poo most of the time. We still put him in a diaper at night, but he is progressing in leaps and bounds.
Kristin
Kristin is now 9 months pregnant and ready to be back to her normal shape and size. She loves the feeling of the baby inside her but she is really uncomfortable now. We are excited though. We set up the nursery for the baby and we are counting down the days. Kristin still hasn’t gotten a new calling yet after leaving the nursery and she is starting to get anxious for something to do but I think she will appreciate the break once the baby comes. It has been nice to attend Sunday School and Relief Society. Kristin is a great mom and she is doing a wonderful job with the boys. She is also my biggest cheer leader and keeps me going. We have been spending a lot of time and energy and prayer on what we will be doing in a year. I won’t go into it here, but believe me, it has been on the forefront of our minds.
Aaron
I’m doing good. Currently I am TDY (Temporary Duty Location). Last week I went to Hampton, Va to visit Langley AFB. I was delivering accelerator training to the network operators there. It was cool to be there. I also had the opportunity to visit Brad, Celeste and Brooklyn which was really great. They had just gotten settled there in MD but we had a great time. I got there Friday night and we stayed up late talking and catching up. Then on Saturday we went to the mall and out to lunch and got ice cream and just had a good time. Sunday I flew to Honolulu! Actually, I had a problem with my fight out of Virginia so I stayed in LA overnight Sunday. Austin and Sara came down and picked me up and we got to hang out which was really awesome. It was great to catch up with them as well. I really miss being able to see everyone on a regular basis. Anyway, I got to Honolulu on Monday and though I have been in meetings everyday, there has still been plenty of time in the late afternoon/evenings to see Honolulu. My hotel is in Waikiki right on the beach so it has been pretty cool. I did actually get in the water yesterday and if the weather is good today I’ll jump in again. I could easily get into the beach lifestyle. Maybe not the island lifestyle, but definitely the beach. I leave on Friday morning and I fly direct from Honolulu to London direct. 16 hours. It does stop in LA to pick up folks, but it is pretty much continuous. Then a short hop from London to Frankfurt.
Family
We are anxiously looking forward to the arrival of Elizabeth Jayne Baillio. That’s right! That’s the name we are going with. We’ll call her Ellie Jayne. Just a few more weeks! It’ll be fun to have a little one around again. I always forget how tiny they are until we have another.
We are also trying to project where we will be in a year. We have a lot of options and we have no idea which pathwe will take but we are fasting and praying and looking at our options. We do have some baseline requirements for wherever it is we do end up and we know where we would prefer to go, but we have to marry those up.
Finally, we are mourning the loss of Grandma Baillio. We are sad for he departure and thankful for all she did for the Baillio family and in the local community. I know she was a hard working woman and loved her family. She was a good example in many ways. I feel sad for mom and dad but we have the peace of knowing she is with Heavenly Father and we can now do the work for her.
That’s about it! I think you are thoroughly debriefed on what is going on with the Baillio’s in Germany. I’ll be more diligent in posting for this year. Love you guys!
