I wish I was born in Italy!
Well, the Italy trip was a lot of fun! We have pics and video and they are all really good and coming to a blog near you. 
It just takes me a while to update these kind of things.
Anyway, Italy was awesome. Will though the plane ride over and back were some of the best parts. He actually thought when we landed in Italy that we had just taken a plane ride and come back home. It was funny. We landed at Venice-Treviso which is about a little more than an hour from Aviano where the Air Force base is. So, we had a little sandwich at the cafe at the airport before we set out. Once we got to base we checked in and ate at a nice place in town. Did I mention that the food is one of the best things about Italy? If not, let me repeat it…the food is the best!
Anyway, I won’t get into all the gritty details. Suffice it to say that Thursday we went to Pordenone (right) 
which is the largest town closest to Aviano. It has a cool pedestrian area with lots of shops and we just strolled through town and had some lunch and ice cream. I had to work a little that night so we had to eat on base. Oh well. Then Friday we got up early and drove into Venice! (above) I thought it was amazing although it was fairly crowded which made Kristin not enjoy it. Crowds don’t really bother me much…at least not as much as Kristin and, say, mom. But, we set out for St. Marks Square not knowing it was 5 kilometers away so that turned into a 4 hour journey! So, after an exhausting hike we took the water bus back to the car park which was the best part for the boys.
Saturday we were pretty worn out so we stuck around the base. They were premiering the Clone Wars movie so they had a bunch of people come to the theater dressed up as the various Star Wars characters
! It was really awesome! At least for me…I thought I had achieved a major milestone in my life to see Darth Vader in person! The movie was great though and the boys loved it as they usually do. Our plane didn’t leave till 10:30 at night so we had a long day and didn’t get home till 1 in the morning but it was worth it. We had a great time, saw some cool stuff and had a change of scenery with a couple little adventures thrown in there. So, all in all I am glad we went and we had a good time.
Back home all is usual. Just getting ready for my next trip! I’ll be going to Turkey here shortly!
October update
Well, I know it has been ages since I updated anything to this. It has been so busy and yet so uneventful at the same time. I don’t know how that is possible but it seems to be the case. We did get some pumpkin carving in as you can see. This was definitely the fanciest pumpkin I have ever carved! There is a whole slew of videos so check them out on the video tab along the left.
Anyway, everyone has recovered from their injuries. We don’t even notice them anymore…or at all really. So, glad that everyone is better. We got some fish for the fish tank so that has been fun. We got a Nemo and another Zebra striped fish. Will loves feeding time. I let him drop the food in and we watch the fish eat.
Work has been really busy but this week it is bringing me to Italy! So, I decided the whole family should go! So, Wednesday we are flying down to Italy and we’ll spend some time around Venice and Podova. The AF base is in Aviano which is about an hour north of Venice. That’s where we’ll be staying and that will be our base of operations. Hopefully it will be fun and not a fight with the kids…regardless it will be an adventure!
We are also getting psyched up for Halloween. There aren’t many opportunities to do stuff around here, but the ward is doing something (that we are missing due to being in Italy) and on base housing will have trick or treating on Halloween day. Then, shortly after I fly to Turkey! I’ll be working on a project there. Then, we are heading to Utah! Can’t wait! It’ll be fun to see everyone together. It has been a while so I am really stoked.
