Well, it was Asher’s birthday last Saturday and boy did we have a good time!  First we went to eat at the BX and had french fries and chicken strips!  Then we went to the local zoo…that was a lot of fun.  Because it is a pretty small time zoo, you can get pretty up and close the animals.  So, we got to touch a couple of them and got really up and close to the lion.  That was cool…what a big cat!  They had a little goat pen where you can buy a handful of food and go in and feed the goats.  Always a hit with the kids.  It was funny when we go there a couple women had let out a few goats and so they were trying to heard them back in…rather futilely.  So, I had to give them a hand.  But, we had fun in the goat pen.  They also had a playground and we let Will go to town on that.  They also had a coin operated “digger”.  A “digger” is that piece of machinery used in construction to dig.  We have a book of diggers and so Will though that was really cool.

When we came home we had hamburgers and hot dogs on the grill.  A few friends came over and we ate and did Dance Dance revolution and played outside and just had all kinds of fun.  Then we had a peanut butter chocolate cake!  Yummy!  We forgot the presents so we did those Sunday morning…which led me to forget about Mother’s Day until we got to church!  Ouch!  Not a pleasant mistake…I did get her something though I just delivered it on Friday and with all the excitement I forgot on Sunday morning.  Well, we made up for it by going out to eat! :)

Well, hopefully our next adventure will be the move.  We have had a hiccup with that…hopefully to be resolved this week.  In any case, we will be moving, it just may not be our first choice.  Have any of you gotten your refund checks or incentive checks?  Where is mine?!

Medieval Times (and weirdos)

May 6, 2008 at 7:05 am (Uncategorized)

Well, we had a pretty fun weekend!  We went to a medieval fair in a small town called Oppenheim.  It was a great setting for a fair like this because the town is like 800 years old.  It has a really neat gothic cathedral and all the houses in town look like the traditional old style German houses.  So, it was cool.  It was perfect weather also.  You’ll have to peruse our pictures.  Check out the May 08 folder at the following link: http://aaron182.winkflash.com.  Asher got to finally ride in the car facing forward…that was a big thrill! :)

We also singed the contract for the new house so we are on the way!  Just a few more weeks and we will be in hog heaven!  Moving will be a pain in the butt, but it is a pain we can handle.  We got a bunch of boxes today so we will being packing the non-essentials.  Anyway, this weekend is Asher’s birthday.  We are planning to go to the zoo.  We’ll post pictures for that as well.  I can’t believe he is already 1 year old.  What a difference a year makes.  We were strangers in a strange land last year and now we are old pros.  Crazy.
