Some pics
Well, we have been having fun here! We went to France on Monday and then Tuesday night our ward had a roller skating party. We have some really fun pics. Check them out at this website: http://aaron182.winkflash.com.
Laterz!
Day trips are cool…
Well, we had Monday off…one of the many perks about government employment: we get those weird holidays off like President’s Day. Not that we honored any presidents yesterday, but it was nice not to have to go to work! Anyway, so we went to Metz. It is just on the other side of the border from where we live…about an hour away so it is easily within distance to make a good day trip. Click on the picture above. This is our favorite spot in the city. We went to Metz exactly a year ago after first arriving here and spent a long time in a little park on this spot in the middle of the picture. It is back of a church/castle called “Le temple neuf” or “New temple.” The park is small, but the river runs on both sides and it is very beautiful and very peaceful.
This time we wandered through the city and did some exploring. Last time Kristin was 7 months pregnant and didn’t really feel like taking the walking tour of the city.
So, we found all kinds of cool shops and places to eat. We found this strip mall that is underground right in the middle of the city! Of course we got our favorite pastries too. It is so funny…Will, when he gets something he likes, while he is eating or right after he takes a bite he will say, “Mmm, good!” We gave him a “pain au chocolat” a pastry roll with chocolate in the middle and he was saying “Mmm, good” with such enthusiasm it was hilarious! Asher was not a big fan though. How strange!
Well, I am happy to say everyone is back to full health. It has been crazy. But, the sun has been out for more than a week so we are really taking advantage of that. I started reading a new book series called “Septimus Heap.” It is pretty good. I was surprised. It started off kinda weird, but I really got into it. I think it is maybe for a slightly younger audience than the Bartimaeus trilogy, but it is still good reading. I finished the first book and I really liked it. Also, we subscribed to LDS Living magazine. I would highly recommend it. It has some great articles. Although it isn’t all prophets, apostles and GA’s like the Ensign, there are some inspired stories from regular folks like you and me. And a lot of practical advice too. Kristin really like it.
Well, that is all for this last week. Next week I will be heading to Italy after all. I’ll give you the full report on that after I get back! Laterz!
Puking your guts out….
Well, I don’t know what it was that the kids did at church but somehow they brought back a bug. Asher was affected first. He woke up Monday morning covered in vomit. He had vomited at least twice during the night and then all the next day he could hardly keep anything down. He puked again once or twice again last night but so far today he seems okay.
We woke Will up, well, he woke us up at about 2:30 am after he had puked. So, we brought him into bed and then he proceeded to vomit every hour or so after that till about 7 in the morning. It was rough for all of us. But, he seems fine now. He hadn’t puked since this morning so hopefully it is through his system now.
Tell you what, being sick sucks. But those kiddos don’t try to let it get them down! They keep on trucking like nothing happened. Unless they are really sick and then they don’t move. That is the scarriest.
Well, I may be off to Italy this next week. It hasn’t been approved yet. We are working a server consolidation effort down there. The weather is finally nice so we are going to start to plan some day trips out to Germany and France. Maybe Belgium and Switzerland. We can’t travel to much, but we’ll start venturing out.
Well, that is about all I have for now. Hope you are not heaving as much as these Baillios are!
I don’t believe it, lieve it, lieve it!
As many of my avid readers may know, we have been without an internet connection at home for quite some time. Well, we finally got back to a reliable internet connection! I can’t believe it! Of course, it is still crappy slow connection on the busted up laptop with Windows XP, but hey…beggars can’t be choosers now can they. Anyway, we got it up and running yesterday and I think me and Kristin were on there for at least 2 hours trying to fulfill all our missed internet needs. I can finally see your blogs and even post to your blogs! Thank you to those who continually give me feedback on mine. I appreciate it. I will return the favor I promise!
Anyway, all else seems to be moving along just fine. We finally got out of January which was the eternal sickness pit that was out home. Everyone was sick if not once then twice! Except for Kristin…she has an invincible immune system…but someone had to take care of the rest of sickies right? She was great and really helped us out. I had an interview for a job out a Randolph that we both really want and are praying for but we don’t want to get out hopes up to much and be crushed that we have to stay. So, we’ll see. I don’t even find out if I was selected until next week or the week after that.
Asher is pulling up and climbing the stairs! What a goober! Now we have to put a gate up on the stairs. He is only 9 months! What’s the hurry anyway? I think he sees his brother standing and so he has to also. Those two are inseparable. Will is doing some gentle potty training. We got him a little stairway that leads up to the toilet and has a nice little kid seat. If we catch him trying to poop we’ll stick him on that thing. We have also gone to pull-ups to get him used to underwear. I am not sure he is totally ready yet, but we are getting him used to the idea.
Well, that’s it for me! Look for some posts on your blogs from the Double A-ron!
