Hey folks!  Well, the trip was a success.  We had a lot of fun and even though we were in the car a lot, we had a good time.  Here is a picture of Mont Saint Michel.  It was crazy busy but we braved the crowd anyway and climbed up into the old city and castle.  It was really neat.Mont Saint Michel

It is surrounded by this bay and at high tide gets completly surrounded by water….well, not so much any more.  They have a parking area and a walk way so that tourists can head up there all the time.  In the town were all kinds of restaurants and hotels!  You could sleep there!  Wow….it was cool though.

We also went up to the Normandy landing beaches.  That was pretty neat.  The coolest thing I though was a little church up in a town called St. Mere Eglise.  A paratrooper accidently landed and got stuck on the roof of the church and hung there as the battle went on below him.  He even got shot in the foot.  Well, the church has a dummy hanging from the church and it is pretty cool.

The last place we went to was Bastogne where the Battle of the Bulge occured.  The town was really neat and there is a large American memorial there.  The museum was really cool cause it had a lot of relics from the war like a pamphlet given to soldiers about venereal disease! :)

We went to a lot of places.Caen, France  We stayed here in this city where there was a large castle built by William the Conquerer.  It was pretty neat and we got to walk on the castle walls and through the draw bridge.  It was cool.  We got lots of fun pictures.  THis is the cathedral and the abbeye.  Also pretty neat although we didn’t go inside.  We went to the church in Le Mans (which was in my mission) and that was so awesome that we didn’t want any other churches to dissapoint.  Plus, we had other stuff to see!

There was a museum here about William but only Kristin and her mom went in there and we played on the playground they had.  Will needed a little run around time.

Le Mans cathedral

This is the cathedral in Le Mans.  Pretty stunning really….all the flying buttreess.  (I just said butt!)  Anyway, it was built between 1080 and 1240 AD.  It started in the roman style and then ended in the gothic style.  The only church like that…with both styles.  It is pretty neat.  On my mission, I walked by this thing everyday almost.  I know it quite well and it was fun to be back there.  Maybe one day when the Christ comes again we’ll turn this into nice temple.  They did actually have a Holy spot where they have a sign saying that inside the Spirit of the Lord dwells.  Right…..

We also drove through Paris and saw Notre Dame and the Eiffel Tower.  Pretty stunning sights….all in all….we went through 4 countires and 2200 kilometers.  Pretty fun.  And realyl the kids did well in the car for the most part.  We did have to drug them or anything!  And Will slept in our bed…and slept!  That was new.  Hopefully all of you can come out here and we will have a trip together.  I can’t wait!
