Here is a pic…isn’t he beuatiful. That cap is so European.
Anyway, everyone is doing well. We bought Will a toddler bed becuase he has been sleeping in a pack-&-play. Well, now sleeping has become some aweful thing. The first night he escaped from his bed and opened the door. Well, now he knows he can get out. So, we put him back in the pack and play. Well, he crawled out! So, we had to lock his door and he just screamed and screamed until he finally must have fallen asleep right there by the door. Poor thing. So now every time he has to take a nap or go to sleep is this experience. What a nightmare. Any suggestions? Let me know. Thanks!
Asher has arrived!
Hey everyone! I can’t believe it but Asher is finally here. It was a whirlwind that is for sure. I can’t believe how fast it was! Here are the nitty-gritty details…fasten your seat belts!
Well, Wednesday night around 8 or so Kristin started feeling some light contractions but they weren’t regular and she didn’t have any bloody show so she didn’t think much about it. She didn’t even tell me until we went to bed that night. At that point, they started getting a little stronger though. She kept getting up and going to the bathroom all night keeping me awake! Can you believe it! Anyway, around 1:30 she woke me up. She said the contractions were coming every 4 or 5 minutes and they had gotten stronger.
So, we call the hospital and the girl was just like…well, if you wanna come in that is fine, but if you don’t want to have her take a bath and see if that speeds up or slows down the process. Well, we decided to go. So, we called the Relief Society president and she came and picked up will…that was around 2:30 am. We went to the hospital where they hooked up Kristin to a monitor. They had her there for about 30 minutes and things didn’t seem to strong so the attending said we could go home or we could stay. They have a little extra room with a full size bed for these kinds of instances. Well, we go in there a little after 4. At this point, Kristin is effaced but not dialted but a centimeter or 2. I go to sleep but of course Kristin is going to the bathroom all the time! At one point a nurse walks in and says, “Mr. Baillio, your wife needs you.” I’m like…where did she go?!
So, I go find Kristin and she is hooked up to the monitor again and she had dialted 5 cm! Wow! That was fast. We are waiting for blood work to return for some reason to wait on the epidural…I have a theory about that I will tell you later. Anyway, This is all around 5:30 to 6. At 6, the contractions are really painful and it is really hard for Kristin. So, at this point it is to late for the epidural! Yikes! We didn’t prepare for that! So, Kristin gets up on the bed and instead of laying down they had her kneel facing the back of the bed. She grabs on and rides out the rest of the birthing that way! Totally natural…no Tylenol even. So, Asher comes out at 7:30am. Because it happened so fast he didn’t have the pointy head that Will had from being in the birth canal so long! He looks great and Kristin is doing really well.
Some interesting tidbits…there was a knot in the umbilical cord! The nurse said that is really rare and that it is a good thing he came cause if it had gotten ticht it could have killed him! He weighs 7lbs. 10oz. just like will and is 53 cm. He has really blond hair too! Much unlike Will but his face looks just like Will when he was that age. Also, he has the Baillio nose…too bad!
Anyway, that is the story! We’ll will do what we can to get more video online! Love you all!
T-Minus 12 days and counting….
Well, we had a doctor’s visit yesteday and…..everything is the same! The cervix is still hard and no dialation. Of course, this is how it was with Will then all of a sudden…POW! 2 days later and there is a new baby boy! So, we are expecting a similar experience. I can’t believe we are this close but it is exciting! I am not sure I am ready for all the new responsibilities…I am ready for the love though. At least this time I am aware of what to expect. Thankfully I will be able to take off a full week in order to take care of mommy and the baby and Will. Definately good news. Bad news is paying for this kid. Hopefully that all works out. Anyway, hope all is well! I’ll keep you posted!
